Meet Rikki Hanson, PTA — A Passion for People and Purposeful Care

Jolie Koesters

At our RehabVisions outpatient clinic in the Canyon-Amarillo area, we believe great care starts with great people—and Rikki Hanson, PTA, is one of them. With a warm, energetic presence and a deep commitment to helping others live their best lives, Rikki brings a unique blend of clinical skill and human connection to every therapy session.

Though she originally planned to pursue sports medicine, Rikki found her true calling in physical therapy thanks to some timely inspiration and encouragement from mentors along the way. “I was lucky to have the right people show up at the right time,” she says. “They helped me find my way to therapy; and here I am.”

Rikki now spends her days working one-on-one with patients in the outpatient clinic, building personalized treatment plans that focus on what matters most to them. Whether it’s helping someone return to gardening, athletics, or just pain-free daily movement, her goal is simple: improve function, restore quality of life, and help people thrive.

“My favorite part of the job is getting to know people,” she says. “I always ask what they want to be able to do again, and then we build our plan around that. If it brings them joy and motivation, it’s going into the treatment.”

After working solo in home health for years, Rikki is thrilled to now be part of a collaborative clinic team. “Being surrounded by smart, compassionate therapists makes such a difference,” she says. “I’m constantly learning from my coworkers, and we’re always pushing each other to get better.”

She’s also trained in Functional Dry Needling and certified in Nasal Release Technique, using these specialized tools to support patients with everything from chronic pain to athletic recovery.

Outside the clinic, Rikki’s love for sports continues—only now it’s through her kids’ activities. That firsthand experience helps her relate to younger athletes and develop functional, real-world treatment strategies.

Patients often comment on how comfortable and seen they feel in her care. “Success to me is when a patient gets back to something they love,” she says. “That’s what keeps me going every day, just knowing I helped someone get their life back.”

Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing pain, or just looking for a partner in your movement goals, Rikki brings skill, heart, and a team-first attitude to the table. Come meet her! You’ll feel the difference.

From your first visit to your last milestone, Rikki and our team at RehabVisions in Canyon/Amarillo are here to help you reach your goals. Call (806) 705-8866 or get started by requesting an appointment.
